Academic Programming Initiatives
The Office of Housing and Residence Life believes that housing is more than just a place to live; it is an opportunity to learn and lead as well. Through our programs, students are given an additional opportunity to explore, reflect, and interact with staff, faculty, and peers who share common interests. We partner with various offices across campus to expand the services our students can utilize, including the Bepko Learning Center, the Math Assistance Center, the Multicultural Success Center, Campus Recreation, Counseling and Psychological Services, Academic and Career Development, University College, and Student Health.
SYE (Sophomore Year Experience)
The SYE Crossroads provides programs and services intentionally designed to meet the unique needs of second-year residential students. The focus will be on building networks, forming major and career connections, establishing executive decision-making skills, and discovering co-curricular opportunities to enhance the college experience.
CHOOSE (Campus Housing Out Of State Experience)
CHOOSE is a programming track for residents who are coming to IUPUI from outside the state of Indiana. The focus will be on involving residents in events and activities taking place on campus and in the Indianapolis area. This includes festivals, museums, eateries, sporting events, and exploring the Indianapolis districts.
First Generation Experience
This track will deliver programming to our residents who are the first in their family to experience college life. How to build a support network, navigate the financial aid system, choose a major that fits you, and how to locate and utilize resources will be a few of the topics discussed.
