Residence hall councils are the student government bodies for campus housing, and they serve as liaisons between the residents and the Office of Housing and Residence Life. There are four hall councils at IUPUI: North Hall Council, Ball Residence Hall Council, Riverwalk Apartments Council, and the University Tower Council.
Hall councils are responsible for organizing activities, speakers, and special events through the academic year to create a diverse social and educational atmosphere for on-campus residents. Each council has an elected body consisting of president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary, in addition to having at least one representative per floor or wing. Residents not in an elected position are encouraged to get involved with Hall Council as general members.
All residents are eligible to run for a position and are encouraged to become involved with their community. Elections are held in late August. Contact your resident assistant or community office for more information.
