Move-In Guide

Move-In Guide

Preparing for Move-In

Moving into campus housing is an exciting time, but it can also be a little hectic. Below you will find information that will assist in the ease of your first day here at IUPUI!

  • Roommate Information

The relationships you establish at IUPUI can help you make the most of your university residential experience. Included will be your roommate's name and email address, if available. The Office of Housing and Residence Life encourages all residents that have been assigned to multiple resident units (2BR/4BR/Double Room/Triple Room) to contact their assigned roommates prior to move in.

Residents will receive roommate information with their move-in invitation starting the first week in August.

  • Parking Permits

The parking lots near and around the residence hall and apartments are designated as CH lots (Campus Housing) or PP lots (Park Place). Only residents that have signed housing contracts will be eligible to purchase the permit respective to their assigned facility. University Tower residents also have the option to purchase a Tower Garage permit (limited availability). Students living in campus housing are only eligible for their respective parking permit. Parking permits must be displayed if a vehicle is parked on campus at all times. To learn more about parking at IUPUI as a on-campus resident, click here for detailed information and pricing from Parking Services.

For your convenience, Parking Services provides on-campus shuttle service from 6:30 a.m. to 9:40 p.m. weekdays, every 20 minutes between all facilities and the Campus Center. Please visit the Parking Services website below to see specific routes and times for your assigned facility. The campus shuttle service will supplement the IndyGo Bus Service from Park Place to campus during peak hours.

  • Jagtag (IUPUI Campus ID Card)

Jagtag is IUPUI's official ID and payment card. Your Jagtag is required to gain access to your residence. Students are required by the university to obtain a Jagtag, and for your duration here, the Jagtag will be your:

    • Payment Card
    • Access Card into your residence
    • Sports/Rec Card
    • Library Card
    • Discount Card
    • Printing Card

To obtain a Jagtag you must present a valid picture ID and you must be a registered student. If you have not registered for classes, you will need to obtain a guest pass from campus housing until you have registered for classes and are eligible to receive a Jagtag. Note: If you have just recently registered for classes, you may want to bring a copy of your registration with you to Campus Card Services.

For more information on making deposits or obtaining your Jagtag please visit the Jagtag Office website.

  • IUPUI TV Service

Basic cable television service is provided in all residential facilities. Due to changes in technology and physical restrictions, some residences may have different options than others. For current information about equipment configuration and available channel lineups see http://tv.iupui.edu/.

  • Renters Insurance Requirements

The university and the Office of Housing and Residence Life assume no responsibility for theft, loss or damage of personal belongings in or on residence hall/apartment/townhome property. This policy extends to resident rooms, resident apartments, auto and bicycle parking areas, as well as all other living unit areas. Residents are strongly encouraged to obtain insurance to cover personal property.

  • Immunization Requirements

Prior to moving in, new student residents are required to upload supporting documentation of vaccine history or immunity against the following diseases:

    • Measles
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella (chickenpox)
    • Pertussis (whooping cough)

Immunity against these diseases is typically achieved through the MMR vaccine, Varicella vaccine and Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis) vaccine.  In some cases, a blood test showing adequate antibody titer may be acceptable evidence of immunity.  IUPUI Student Health, part of IUPUI Campus Health, manages the immunization records on behalf of the campus.

Please go to the Student Health Immunization forms webpage and follow the instructions on submitting your immunization data as soon as possible.
